On a starlit night on a Judean hillside a special star lit the night.  Shepherds heard that wonderful announcement: “For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”  (Luke 2:11).  What these shepherds did not grasp was that the Great Shepherd in heaven was coming down to earth on a mission of search and rescue.  He would not be satisfied with a flock of only Jewish sheep; He wanted to bring all the ethnic groups of the Gentiles into the fold.  That’s us!  Where would we be without it?!  He will not stop until barriers and walls between ethnic groups are brought down and there is one flock for the one Shepherd.

“I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.”  John 10:16 (NASB)
