There are those who think they are in who are out.  They think they will be welcomed on the great day into the kingdom, but will find themselves on the outside, because they did not welcome sinners into the kingdom.  They kept and guarded it for themselves.  This displeased the King.  They did not serve in the way He commanded.  This is the way insiders will wind up being on the outside.  May we be warned.  It takes more to be in than to claim you are in.  The real mark of being in is to reflect Jesus’ kingdom hospitality toward the outsider.

“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:11-12 (NASB)
