One of the most difficult things we face is being totally honest with ourselves. One reason it is so difficult is that we shield ourselves in order to protect ourselves from what we might discover or even what we know is already there. Without total honesty there can be very little taking of new spiritual ground. Without facing ourselves there is no repentance and thus no forward progress. Lord, You who sees all, help me to see myself.
