My friend Paulette Woods said recently, “Nothing is more defeating than mean self-talk.”  How right she is!  Beat up on yourself and you will spend the rest of your day bruised and discouraged.  The cure for this is to give yourself grace.  In fact, it would be better said theologically, receive for yourself the grace the Lord is extending to you every moment.  Grace is declared to you in Christ.  Grace was lifted up on a cross.  Grace flows to you from the five bleeding wounds of your Intercessor.

Five bleeding wounds He bears; received on Calvary;
They pour effectual prayers; they strongly plead for me:
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Nor let that ransomed sinner die!” – (Verse 3 from “Arise, My Soul, Arise”, written by Charles Wesley, about the intercession of Christ to the Father.  One of the greatest hymns ever).
