Pride will keep you in your fortress when the old crack in the wall is already in the final stages of crumble. So instead of dealing with our core issues, we hastily put a few bricks back into the wall. It will not hold because there is self-sufficiency in the mortar. Pride revives denial as often as it feels it must. Confession requires vulnerability and brokenness that pride must veto. God wants your heart to bow. In your life there can only be one King!
