Our Father is not looking for perfect performance but pure intent.  Even pure intent can stumble in how it expresses love.  If your grandchild scribbles, “I love you Pops,” on a piece of paper with a crude picture, you put it on the refrigerator and are proud of it.  Our imperfect expressions of pure intent get hung on God’s “refrigerator”.  “Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart”.  Our Father rejoices over our expressions of love.

“From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth– he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.” Psalm 33:13-15 (NIV).
