Fear can cause faith to waver.  It can cause the heart to faint.  It can paralyze the will to act.  It can keep us frozen in the midst of the battle and ineffective even in the smallest things we need to do.  Fear sees the present problem as greater than God.  It leaves us alone with the problem.  Fear feels overwhelmed by what might happen.  Focusing on fear keeps us from focusing on God.  Fear must be replaced with faith and apprehension with trust.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?” (Psalm 27:1 NASB). “When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust, I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 56:3-4, NASB).
