Jesus told a parable (Luke 16:1-13) about how being faithful and honest in handling the little things of our lives is so important.  Being faithful in small things is preparation for faithfully handling greater things.  Being unfaithful in little things means that one will very likely be unfaithful in greater things.  Everything in the ethics of our lives, truth telling, how we handle money, how we spend time, and down to very small things, is preparing or disqualifying us for what comes next.

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.  So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” Luke 16:10-11 (NIV)
