We sometimes struggle with our “devotional life”.  We carry guilt, feeling it is not often enough, nor intense enough.  Devotions are not an end within themselves; they are a means to an end.  Heart devotion will find devotional times.  It is like wanting to be with the Lover of our Soul.  We are drawn to what we love.  We have time for what we love.  The Father is devoted to us and longs to be with us.  We love the Father and want to be with Him.  Devotional times express this relationship as well as building it.

“Preserve my life, for I am devoted to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God.” Psalm 86:2 (NRSV)
