If there is a God, we intuitively know that it matters how we live out our life before Him as His creatures.  Conveniently denying the existence of God so we can live our lives the way we want to live them will not in the end soothe the conscience.  We were meant for worship in the same way our lungs were meant for air.  Until we learn to breathe the breath of heaven, we will always be trying to breathe in that which becomes toxic to our souls.

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Ps 53:1).
