What is there in us that makes us feel we are slightly better than other people?  Even those who think of themselves as an outcast sometimes feel it.  Of course it is pride, the seed of narcissism.  It is the source of divisions among the human family and the church.  It values its own opinions above all others as being “more right”.  It is the source of racism and elitism, strife and discord.  It is the enemy of peace and unity in all communities that humans inhabit.  The cure for this universal malady is to return to radical Christlikeness.  It is to put yourself below all for the purpose of serving all.  This is what the peaceable Kingdom looks like.

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Philippians 2:3 (KJV)
