Sometimes it seems like this fallen world keeps falling. Yet, God is at work in it through those who follow the ways of the Kingdom. He has come to bring light through us to those who sit in darkness. We are salt to the earth, a preserving influence. When we have been with our Lord, we are prepared to be with the world as salt. We will not despair, because He has promised to triumph through us. We will not give up on people, because He did not give up on us.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.” Matthew 5:13 (NRSV)
